Around the 1970/1980 period Peter promoted 5 VTTA National Championship events on the fast F1 Great North Road courses at both 25and 50miles when people like the late Brian Haskell would come down to ride also George and Mary Dawson from Yorkshire and Teesside in the early 1990. Peter was elected Chairman of RTTC/CTT London North and also served on the National Appeals Panel. Peter gave up competing in 1998 and but still rides the bike every day though he uses the turbo when it's cold and wet now.
